We need action now! Ramping up toward 2026, the Fix Our Homes Illinois coalition is holding a “Town Hall” meeting on Saturday, October 4th at Noon, featuring older homeowners living in the Springfield area to put a spotlight on the plight of unmet home repair needs for low-income seniors throughout Illinois. This free and accessible event at the Lincoln Library, 326 S. 7th Street, Springfield, will also feature information sharing. State legislators from the area will be invited. Refreshments will be provided.

Our goal is to introduce and adopt in 2026 a centralized, east-to-access home repair infrastructure in the State of Illinois specifically for low-income seniors homeowners living in single-family homes or in 2-4-unit buildings which they also own.
Fix Our Homes Illinois, founded in 2023, is a coalition of organizations that serve older people through home repair, policy advocacy, and research, and older people themselves. It is coordinated through Housing Opportunities and Maintenance for the Elderly (H.O.M.E.) in Chicago.
